Exhibitor Information

Exhibits

Exhibits will be open Sunday through Tuesday. Exhibitors will feature state-of-the-art products and services related to the advancement of research within mutagenesis, genomics, imaging, and related areas. At the exhibits, scientists will have a first-hand opportunity to talk with exhibitors and examine and learn about the products and services on display. A special "Lunch with the Exhibitors" will be held in the Exhibit Hall on Monday at noon, with a buffet lunch included in the registration fee.

Invitation to Exhibit

You are invited to exhibit at the 39th Annual Meeting of the Environmental Mutagen Society (EMS) which will take place on October 18–22, 2008 at the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Companies interested in exhibiting should contact Liz Kasabian at EMS Headquarters, by phone at (703) 438-8220.

Benefits of Exhibiting

The Annual Meeting brings together over 400 scientists, administrators and managers from industry, academia, government, and regulatory agencies to share the latest developments in genetic mutagenesis. Attendees represent the disciplines of genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, in vitro toxicology, alternatives to animal testing, and risk assessment.

The purpose of EMS is to promote basic and applied studies of mutagenesis, the area of genetics dealing with mutation and the detection of environmental mutagens. EMS has eight core scientific content areas. These are:

  1. Exposure, detection and metabolism of DNA damaging agents
  2. Responses to DNA damage (DNA repair and recombination, changes in gene expression, cell cycle effects)
  3. Mutational mechanisms (spontaneous and exposure related)
  4. Epigenetic changes in response to DNA damaging agents
  5. DNA technologies
  6. Molecular epidemiology
  7. Human health effects (developmental, cancer, aging, genetic disease)
  8. Applications: testing, regulatory issues and risk assessment

This is an excellent opportunity to reach a very targeted audience—and what better location than Puerto Rico!

Given the resort venue in Puerto Rico and the unique opportunities of the destination, EMS has decided to depart from the standard meeting schedule for the 2008 Annual Meeting. Scientific Sessions will be held in the morning until Noon each day with a break mid-day to allow attendees to enjoy the beautiful tropical environment. The science will resume at 4 PM with a break for dinner at 6:15 PM. Plenary lectures have been scheduled for 7:30 PM followed by the attended poster sessions and exhibits which will be held from 8:30 PM–10:30 PM on Sunday and Monday. The Exhibits and all Posters will be on display Sunday through Tuesday.

New This Year:

A special Lunch with the Exhibitors has been scheduled in the Exhibit Hall for Monday at Noon. Light fare will be available for lunch (included in the meeting registration fee) and attendees will be encouraged to visit with the Exhibitors during this time. This special lunch represents a unique opportunity for Exhibitors and meeting attendees to interact in a relaxed setting.

Internet Café in the Exhibit Hall—sure to draw a steady stream of attendees
