About St. Louis, Missouri
This year join EMS in St. Louis, a vibrant city full of history and culture. The city has long served as a cultural melting pot for immigrants entering America for the first time, giving St. Louis a unique feel and a diverse array of sights that you are sure to enjoy. Live music, pro sports, world-class beer and a wide range of ethnic eateries are just a few of the many opportunities this location has to offer.
No trip to St. Louis would be complete without a visit to the Gateway Arch. As the tallest national monument in USA, the Arch offers breathtaking views of the Mississippi River and downtown St. Louis, letting visitors see as far as 30 miles away on a clear day. If you prefer to see the city up close you can go on a sightseeing cruise that lets you float down the Mississippi River on 19th Century replica steamboat. The Museum of Westward Expansion is also near the base of the Arch, capturing what Lewis and Clark discovered when they set out on their famous expedition from St. Louis in 1804.
To escape the hustle and bustle of the city you can relax in Forest Park, one of the largest urban parks in America. The park is 1,371 acres big, which is around 500 acres larger than Central Park! Home of the World’s Fair in 1904, the recently renovated park now includes a 7.5-mile trail for biking or running, a skating rink, and several lakes. Forest Park even contains many of the city’s cultural attractions such as the Zoo, History Museum and Science Center, so it is sure to be a place everyone can enjoy.
